Editorial guidelines
How we write what we publish
Every guide on this site exists so a Florida homeowner makes a better decision. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Who writes
Guides are signed by a real person with a name and role. Today, the lead author is Lazaro Diaz Hernandez, founder of E-Minded. When someone else writes or reviews, they appear in the byline.
Where the numbers come from
Every rate, cost, incentive or deadline figure has a source linked at the bottom of the guide. We prefer primary sources: the utility (FPL, Duke, TECO), the IRS, the Department of Energy, the Florida Public Service Commission, NREL and EIA. When we use third-party estimates (EnergySage, SolarReviews), we say so.
What we never do
We don’t promise a zero bill. We don’t use savings percentages without a caveat. We don’t invent testimonials or press logos. We don’t say "100% guaranteed". We don’t hide when an option doesn’t make sense.
Mandatory caveats
Every guide about savings states that the numbers depend on your home, usage and bill. Every guide about incentives states that they vary by county, income and installation type, and that you should confirm with your tax preparer.
When we update
Every guide shows its last review date. We review rates and programs when they change and, at minimum, once a year. If you find outdated information, write to support@emindedsolutions.com.
Independence
E-Minded is compensated by installer and financing partners when a project is completed. Guides don’t promote brands: they compare options. When we mention a partner by name, we say so.
Languages
We write in Spanish first and publish an equivalent English version, not a machine translation. If you notice a difference between the two, the most recent version prevails.
